Ellen Cooper’s Last Class With The Chef

I started with a wonderful grisaille which was done in a burnt umber and made my chef glow.  I really liked the affect.  I am going to remember this for paintings that are actually supposed to look like someone is sitting next to a fire.

Unfortunately, I didn’t finish the painting this session but I did, however, get some good photos so I can finish it later.

Next week I’ll be missing Ellen’s last class for my trip to Cancun with the husband and kids.  We should be getting some much-needed R&R. My pet ambition is to discover a great unknown artist while I’m there. If I succeed, you’ll be the first to know!

Shelli Alford is an artist and author, who enjoys learning from master oil painters from around the world and reviewing their classes, workshops and demonstrations.
