Things to Do in Scottsdale
There are many things to do, eat and see in Scottsdale, but my favorite activity was the Scottsdale Art Walk. Within one mile of the The Scottsdale Artist School there are over 100 art galleries. Every Thursday night, classes, friends, visitors and neighbors walk around Scottsdale and visit the many galleries. The galleries stay open late some have any combination of wine, water, hors d’oeuvres and give aways. There is a lot of cowboy art, but there is also a gallery called GalleryRussia with beautiful realistic old paintings from Russia.
The food in Scottsdale was also terrific. There is a Mexican restaurant called El Molino Mexican Cafe walking distance from the school it’s a great inexpensive place to have a delicious Mexican meal for lunch. Coming from Texas I grew up loving what we call Tex/Mex. This was a completely different kind of Mexican, but just as delicious. Another fun and delicious restaurant was Salty Senorita. It is also within walking distance from the school. Delicious food and beautiful. Ask to sit outside in the winter. There are also fancy shopping malls with big chains like the Cheese Cake Factory and other high end chains. A free trolley is located just across the street from the school. The trolly can take you all around Scottsdale if you don’t feel like walking. I loved the city and the school! I am definitely coming back.
