Ellen Cooper’s Painting The Figure From Life class

I love love love Ellen Cooper’s Defiance of Erebus 62″x36″, Oil on linen painting. The first time I saw it was at the 2011 Portrait Society Of America, The Art Of The Portrait, convention in Atlanta, Georgia.  She won First Place & People’s Choice awards for that work.   I was so moved by her Defiance of Erebus painting, that my daughter Grace and I flew to San Antonio, Texas so that I could begin a painting of my then 90-year-old grandmother.

That visit further inspired me to travel around the globe to meet and take lessons from my favorite artists.  Ellen Cooper was high on the list. When I Googled Ellen’s name I found out that she taught a figure painting class at The Wayne Art Center, which is about 20 minutes from my house!  How lucky was that?!?!  Yea!!
